The technology Research and
Economy Development Institute, CSSC is a comprehensive
research institution providing services to nation-wide
shipbuilding industry. The institute has a wide scope of
research businesses involving many fields of studies. These
include: support to high administrative level decision and
international ship markets; collecting, research, reporting
and consulting of technical and economic information on
shipbuilding industry; study,compiling and consulting of ship
standards and specifications; implementation,supervision of
ship standards; reliability research and information
management; marine products licencing, issue and management of
certification; management and popularization of technical
achievement; accomplishing as an agent entrusted patent
business and consulting; design and construction of exhibition
both at home and abroad; audio and video products producing;
research of computer network and information technology;
development of computer application software and multimedia
products.
The institute possesses abundant technical
personnel, 257 in all, among which, 9 with the title of
researcher, 68 with senior technical titles, 136 with
intermediary technical titles. Besides that, 7 have enjoyed
government special subsidy, 4 bear the title of excellent
young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contribution at
province level ; 7 with excellent young technologist at
province level.
The institute owns professional researchers
covering fields of various professions. Information personnel,
in addition to that, have good command of foreign languages
ranging from English, French, German, Japanese, Russian, etc.
With these personnel available, the institute annually carries
out over 100 different technical research projects, edits and
publishes more than a dozen kinds of publications as “Naval
& Merchant ship ” and “World ships & boats ”,
openly published and inner offered copies reaching 3,620,000;
holds 20 exhibitions at home and abroad.
In addition, the computer network has been
basically developed. Through “China Maritime Network”
successfully set up, all the departments of the institute can
make full use of Internet. Exploring information in Internet
is one of the major tasks at present and in the future. By
now, some reports as “Recent Development of International
Shipbuilding Industry”, “China Maritime Directory”,
“Maritime Website Navigator”, “Ship and market” and
“Catalogue and abstract of the series research report of the
world shipbuilding industry and market” have been uploaded
to Internet, and this number will definitely keep increasing
in the future.
During the late 10 years, the institute has
received various technical award, 88 in total, including 1
“science and technology achievement award at state level”,
55 “science and technology achievement award at province
level”, 32 “excellent achievement and periodical award”.
The institute is located at No 70 Xueyuan
Nanlu in Beijing’s new-tech and industrial development trial
zone enjoying beautiful environment and having transport
facilities. It covers an area of 15,000 square meters,
including 11,000 square meters for office use.
